Long of Tooth: Surly Brewing & Proef Brouwerij Collaboration Series, a photo by BeerHyped.com on Flickr.
Maybe I'm getting long in the tooth myself, but the Long of Tooth Surly Brewing & Proef Brouwerij Collaboration is a gnarly beer.
From the long-toothed skeleton figure in the bottle, to the toasted oak and cacao it was brewed in, this English-style old ale is beast.
But if you like old school English beers, you'll enjoy this one. It's 10% ABV, so be warned, this beast has bite.
The beast also has a bitter edge, that calms with time as you let this beer breathe and bring on subtle hints of ripe red fruit, dark chocolate and coffee.
It's a real kick in the teeth if you as me.
