Ringwood Brewery Old Thumper

Ringwood Brewery Old Thumper

I picked up a 22 of Ringwood Brewery Old Thumper a local liquor store here in California and was surprised to find it came all the way from Maine.

This "Beast of  Beer" was pretty solid, a classic pale ale from the East Coast.

For those who haven't had the pleasure of tapping Ringwood's brews, each of their beers has a wild pig worked into the logo, which adds to the bite of these beasty beers.

This is said to be Ringwood's most iconic beer, a peppery brew with a hint of apples that was first brewed in the late 1970s.

It's won a handful of awards, but none is more impressive that being named Champion beer of Britain by Camra in 1988.
